BALLILOGUE: 10 REASONS TO STAY
1. Tradition and Architecture
The London based, modernist architect Mark Guard imagined the spaces at Ballilogue, preserving the Kilkenny stone and granite structures of the Long Dairy, the imposing Ballilogue Farmhouse, Barn and the Lodge, a clever merging of 3 outhouses into a beautiful light filled space. Introducing natural light through giant galvanise roof lights, glass atriums and walls of glass that slide away and spaces that soar, in addition to double height sitting and dining rooms in the Barn and Farmhouse. Add to that, Mrs. Meaney's Cottage with it's artefacts which has been maintained and preserved amongst the contemporary architecture. Ballilogue is the perfect fusion of Irish rural tradition and modernism for the discerning International visitor.

10. Mrs. Meaney's Cottage
A gem at the heart of the Ballilogue Hamlet is Mrs. Meaney's Cottage, Irish heritage preserved with it's original fireplace, dresser and artifacts dating to the 1700's, perhaps earlier! It is a place, not just to honour and respect the past but where now traditional music is played, storytelling happens and is often used by groups of guests for quiet contemplation in candlelight by the turf fire and concrete floor of the large kitchen. Truly the essence of a bygone era in rural Ireland.
